Center on the Family conducts applied and basic research on family issues, and generates and disseminates research-based information that improves the quality of life for Hawai‘i's families and is useful to those who work with them.

Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences (HNFAS)

HNFAS offers a B.S. in Animal Sciences with a Veterinary Track and a B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition with 6 exciting Tracks to choose from. M.S. degrees are offered in Animal Sciences, Nutritional Sciences, Food Science as well as a PhD degree in Nutrition. Our mission is to enhance nutrition and health thru education and disseminating science-based information to promote sustainable food production and animal systems appropriate for the Pacific Region.

Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NREM)

NREM integrates natural and social sciences to educate students and global citizens, research solutions, and extends information for sustainable use and management of natural resources and the environment. We provide students with scientific knowledge of the physical, chemical, biological, economic, social, and policy elements of natural resources management. This allows them to understand the principles that underpin productive, sustainable land use, and enhanced environmental quality.

Plant and Environmental Protection Sciences (PEPS)

The Department of Plant and Environmental Protection Sciences, or PEPS, brings together experts in several fields, such as plant pathology, entomology, weed science, and integrated pest management who use innovative research and cutting-edge tools to preserve food security and environmental functioning.

Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences (TPSS)

Our undergraduate and graduate degree programs prepare students to solve complex problems using applied science methods, with the goal of improving plant production, ensuring a safe and abundant food supply, and protecting the environment.
