Background/
Overview:
Surface and groundwater resources statewide are vulnerable to contamination from various direct and diffuse sources. A criticl need is for public education on the sources and risks associated with these various pollution sources.
Objectives/Goals: To produce and pilot test a localized version of the national Farm*A*Syst/Home*A*Syst (FAS/HAS) education and pollution assessment materials and to increase public awareness of polluted runoff issues.
Methods Employed: The program provided fact sheets and self-assessment workshops to farmers and homeowners to allow them to assess their activities in terms of pollution risks.
