| Background/ Overview: |
HACD has been an active partner of the Polluted Runoff Control (PRC) Program since the late 1980’s. Funds have been provided to the HACD to assist the Department of Health in non point source program development and implementation. |
| Objectives/Goals: | To continue to assist the PRC Program in educating and encouraging the prevention of nonpoint source pollution by planning and coordinating water quality workshops. |
| Methods Employed: | • Assist in developing a NPS compliance program that includes
both regulatory and non regulatory mechanisms • Educate federal, state, and county government agencies about NPS issues and management measures • Develop partnerships with other agencies and organizations such as counties and existing watershed partnerships and or alliances to address NPS pollution • Plan and coordinate an interagency Water Quality Committee and training conference • Provide opportunities for youth participation at the Water Quality training conference |
