Background/
Overview:
The Maui County grading ordinance was revised in 1998 to implement the applicable management measures of Hawaii’s Coastal Nonpoint Pollution Control Program to protect coastal waters. The grading ordinance required the installation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) to control erosion and sedimentation.
Objectives/Goals: To procure the services of a part-time watershed coordinator to help integrate watershed management practices identified in the West Maui Watershed Management Project into the County of Maui’s standard operating procedures.

• Develop a “Permit Procedures” booklet
• Develop an “Enforcement Procedures Manual”
