Aloha and Welcome
Welcome to the Department of Human Nutrition, Food & Animal Sciences. HNFAS programs span a wide range of subjects from the basic principles of human nutrition and food chemistry to the development of animal production systems. HNFAS is home to two exciting undergraduate programs: Animal Sciences and Food Science Human Nutrition and four extraordinary graduate programs: Master of Science in Animal Science, Master of Science in Food Science, Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences and our newest, the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Nutrition. If you are looking for exciting, multidisciplinary programs led by awarding winning faculty, then HNFAS is for you.
Announcements
Dr. Charles Weems of HNFAS was named the 2010 Recipient of the CTAHR Ka Pouhana (Mentor) Award for his advising of the UH-Manoa Rotaract Club. The Ka Pouhana (Mentor) Award, which recognizes an outstanding mentor in our college whom students feel has gone beyond the call of duty and has performed an outstanding job in guiding them. Congratulations to Dr. Weems and to the Rotaract Students.
