Kulanui Brand
Through the efforts of HNFAS Professor Wayne Iwaoka, food science students from the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Science have been developing new food products using papayas, usually culls or seconds, that would normally be un-sellable. These value added products, bear the "Kulanui" brand, which in Hawaiian means "University".
See the Kulanui web site and view the inspiring video on YouTube featuring Wayne and HNFAS students talking about how important this venture is to both our farmers and our students. Kulanui products can be purchased at the UH bookstore and the Rainbowtiques.
Thanks, Wayne, for your leadership.
