| A workshop to increase the potential for collaborative problem solving by exposing participants to powerful facilitation tools: |
- The importance of developing a focus for your meeting
- How to choose the process(es) to achieve success on your meeting's content
- Exposure to powerful problem solving tools and practice in using them
- The key roles which can be played by a group facilitator and recorder
- Acknowledging and meeting differing expectations of participants
- How to build a good agenda
- The importance of learning how to listen as an ally
- Learning how to arrange your meeting room for maximum productivity
- The importance of getting feedback
- A discussion on collaborative leadershipthe significant step beyond facilitation

Workshop Presenter: Dr. Donna R. Ching
Donna has been an Extension Specialist in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Hawaii-Manoa since 1987. During that time, she has enjoyed working with a variety of non-profit, for-profit, and community organizations providing workshops in the area of group process, leadership, facilitation and strategic planning. She has also facilitated many of these organizations in strategic planning and problem solving.
