2000 Theme :
“Gifts from the Land”


The goal of this year's competition has been to raise awareness of our agricultural heritage through art and photography. Entries were invited from local, mainland, and international photographers and artists. Entries were received from both amateurs and professionals.
Winners were announced at the opening event of the Kona Spring Blossom Festival on Saturday, April 1, 2000 at the Kona Hongwanji Mission in Kealakekua. Congratulations to the following winning entries.

In planning the Festival, the Spring Blossom Festival Committee’s goal is to expand Kona’s ability to attract visitors during this traditionally slow time of the year, and to offer these visitors the opportunity to experience not only the typical tourist activities but also to become familiar with and more appreciative of Kona’s special agricultural products.We had many beautiful entries.
