Board of Directors:  Land Grant Deans/Directors

The Directors of the five Pacific Land Grant programs serve as the Board of Directors.  As a decision-making body, directors:

bullet

Develop ADAP policy and program direction.

bullet

Suggests, reviews, elicits ideas, and selects activities for funding.

bullet

Promote ADAP activities to the institutions, communities, collaborators, and other stakeholders.

bullet

Enter into collaborative agreements and memoranda of understanding with collaborators.

bullet

Monitor and approve ADAP activities at his/her own institution, including ensuring compliance with sub-grant agreement with CTAHR, RCUH and USDA.

bullet

Meet with the project manager and USDA officer in the summer (June/July) and winter (January/February) board of directors’ meetings to discuss formal business matters.  The winter meeting will include the coordinators.

bullet

Any or all acts reasonably necessary to carry out the mission and goals of the ADAP project at his/her institution.

bullet

Consider for approval budget changes requested by project PI’s.

bullet

Communicate regularly with the ADAP Home Office and each other throughout the year.

bullet

Cannot be a PI or Co-PI on any ADAP project.

 

Current ADAP Directors are:

Daniel Aga, Dean/Director, Land Grant Program, American Samoa Community College (current Chairman)

Singeru Singeo, Dean/Director, Land Grant Program, College of Micronesia

Lee Yudin, Dean/Director, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Guam

Ross Manglona, Dean/Director, School of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Northern Marianas College

Andrew Hashimoto, Dean, College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, University of Hawai'i

   

    The Board of Directors elects a Chairman to serve a two-year term.  As needed, the Chairman represents the Directors in communications with the US Department of Agriculture, other agencies/institutions, and individuals.  The Chairman conducts meetings, approves the agenda, finalizes meeting location and meeting materials.
