An exciting event took place at Helemano Youth Center on January 24, 2007! The Helemano School Age Program’s 4-H Fine Arts Club presented a dramatic reading and acting out of the classic children’s story Caps For Sale. The 4-H’ers performed for the preschoolers at the youth center. Ms. Vanessa Delgado-Robinson is the club leader for the 4-H Fine Arts club. In order for the club to make this project a success the youngsters have been hard at work creating the backdrops. The 4-H'ers also organized the acting and coordinating of parts during the performance. The Helemano 4-H Photography club also had a hand in this project. During the performance they took pictures throughout the entire presentation to not only practice their photography skills but to also document the event. Ms. Charlene Harvest is the club leader for the 4-H Photography club.

From 4-H clubs to summer camps to athletic teams, every youth program has something that makes it special. While one group is painting a mural or creating a fair exhibit, another group is planting trees or building a Web site. Some youth keep returning to their program to see their friends, to explore nature, to learn new skills or all of the above. What about YOU? During CYFERnet's Digital Media Show-and-Tell contest, you can let the world know what makes your CYFAR and 4-H program special. Your mission is to use digital photography, video, audio or a mix of digital media to answer the question, "Why am I here?" In other words, what do you enjoy most about your program? What benefits keep you coming back for more? Work independently or as a team to show off your art, communication and technology skills while telling your story. CYFERnet will post submissions online for the public to enjoy. Our panel of judges will announce and recognize the winners at the May 2007 CYFAR conference. Visit http://www.cyfernet.org/4htech/missions.html for complete details.
