Aloha 4-H Ohana!
It’s me again and I want to thank everyone who participated in the Children and Youth Day, Kids Fest and Fashion Revue. Although October was a very busy month, I hope you all enjoyed these events as we shared our 4-H spirit with the community. I would like to acknowledge Valerie and the Pot of Gold for doing a fantastic job chairing the exciting Roaring Twenties Fashion Revue where 4-Hers were given the opportunity to create and/or model their favorite fashions. I’m sure it was fun to watch the mothers show off their sophisticated modeling skills and styling flapper outfits. Congratulations to everyone who participated, you are all winners!
November is another busy month, so please mark your calendars for a community service project sponsored by Kristi on November 5 at the Urban Garden Center. Please join her and show off your sewing skills as we sew booties for the Iolani Palace. Two weeks later, our annual camp is scheduled for November 17-19 at Camp Mokuleia. We will have our November council meeting at this camp on Friday, November 17. Thank you Ross for planning this event where 4-Hers can interact and get acquainted other while having fun.
I would like to thank the Linda Uyehara and the Farrington High School FCCLA Chapter for accepting the opportunity to chair the 2007 Food Show. I am confident that this will be a wonderful learning experience for the 4-Hers. We are still seeking a volunteer to chair the Communication Fair.
I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, family and friends, and special blessings!
- Amber

What a great way to celebrate National 4-H Week by participating in this grand adventure. At the State Capitol grounds, we showed various videos from the 4-H Educational Resource Library, taught the children to make a potpourri with herbs from the Urban Garden Center, displayed the National 4-H curriculum and taught helicopter-making from the Aerospace project.
4-H was superbly recognized with a 4-H banner, streamers and a massive clover.
Mahalo to Sakaye Nomura and Karla Nomura-Calistro and Just Us 4-H’ers, Becky Kanenaka’s Clover Kids, Gail Yakushiji and Na Pilialoha, Edna Wong’s Pot of Gold, Christie and Ken Ayers and the Kapolei Explorers, Ethel Murata (4-H Office Secretary). I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you! Thank you!
