President’s Message |
Congratulations to all of you 4-Hers who participated in the Food Show! All the stress you have been put through from filling out the forms to setting up your displays, have been worthwhile. I think this year’s cookbook will definitely have yummy recipes. Maybe next year we can have a bigger cookbook because of more participation.
Due to the Exec Board’s busy calendar, this month’s Council Meeting has been moved to March 5th @ the Urban Garden Center. This is an important meeting to attend because here’s your chance to nominate your favorite candidate for the 2006-2007 Executive Board. Please make an effort to come, we need your voices.
March is also County Camp month!! Get those flashlights out and shake out those sleeping bags because Brittany has a fun filled camp mapped out for you! Those attending the County Camp, don’t forget it is on March 10-12 at Camp Mokuleia.
If you haven’t started yet, it’s not too late to start writing your record books. It will be due in a few months so I advise each and every 4-Her to start theirs during Spring Break. Making a record book will allow you to record what you have done this 4-H year for future references and it will hold all your fond memories of your 4-H activities in 2005-2006.
The Communications Fair will soon be right around the corner. Keep your ears and eyes open for the details to be announced. It’s a good idea to start searching for those speeches, poems, or demos.
This year’s photography contest will be shown at the Achievement Banquet, but the pictures will be due on the same day as the speeches and demos. So everyone start taking pictures! ‘O ia wale nō (That’s all).
~Hannah

Everyone’s contribution was important to make this year’s event possible.
| •Welcome! New 4-H Members |
Welcome to Mahina Adkins and her club of Cloverbuds from the Ewa Gentry area. These 5 year-old 4-H members will be concentrating in “leadership” project. They have quite a schedule ahead of them as ideas are blossoming quickly. Last month, Mahina attended the volunteers training/dinner at UGC to learn more about 4-H. We were very happy to see her and anxiously await meeting her members.
| •I Want To Join 4-H |
K. B. is looking for a 4-H club for her 13 year-old son. They live in the Waipio/Mililani area. Please invite him to join you. He is looking forward to joining.
We are forming a new 4-H horse club in Waimanalo. Do you know of any youth that would like to join?
Please call Maryknoll at 453-6053 or email maryknol@hawaii.edu for enrolling these new members.| •Oahu! I Need You! |
